This intimate portrait was shot with a Canon EOS 60D (not D60) camera and an EF 135mm f/2.8 SF lens wide open. Window light illuminated the model. The exposure was 1/125 second at f/2.8 and ISO 400. When you get in tight, poses may seem unnecessary, but they still have an effect on the subject’s body overall. Here, she’s just leaning back with her arms on the sill of a window.

This is the first of seven shots I made of this subject and the one at the shortest focal length setting. It was made with a Nikon D90 camera with an AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm lens at 92mm. The exposure was 1/60 second at f/14 and ISO 200. This is a variation of the hands-on-hips pose, but here I asked the model to make her hands into fists (they are just a little tighter than I may have liked) to produce a different look.
